Dear Mom,
Congratulations on your retirement!
When you told us you were retiring, and we heard the happiness in your voice, we decided right then and there that we would set up a blog for you. Hence Tanya, Emma, Hanna, Grace & I present to you www.JaneMoxam.com -Retired to blog!
Why?
Call it a hunch, but the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and if you enjoy writing half as much as I do, then we just know in our hearts you will love sharing your thoughts, experiences, ideas, passions and even dislikes with the world.
I know you have many stories to tell, and the girls & I want to hear them. The great thing about blogging is that your voice can be heard on the other side of the planet, you can affect positive change for your grand children today & tomorrow, sound off on topics you have always wanted to discuss, and you will quickly realize there are many, many people out there who want to hear what you have to say! So we know we are not the only ones who will read your blog, in fact we guarantee it!
So whatever direction your new blog takes is completely up to you. You might consider publishing your short stories, writing articles about public speaking, Toastmasters, credit consulting, family, love, retirement, life experience, political activism, none or all of the above.
You are retired now… you get to do WHAT EVER you want WHEN EVER you want to do it!!!! Stay up late drinking red wine, and sleep in the next day. Take your kids for a really long lunch on a Tuesday. On a cold winter day say, “Screw This” and take off to Mexico for the week, or start reading a book on a Monday and be finished by Tuesday. You are the boss!
We love you Mom, (AKA Grandma), and look forward to reading and learning from www.JaneMoxam.com. We truly hope you enjoy your retirement.
Hugs and Kisses,
Lee, Tanya, Emma, Hanna & Grace

Dear Jane,
Sixty years ago a beautiful baby was born to the proud parents, George and Fern Haight. it was a hot day 104 degrees F and the evening of July 1st around 9 0′ clock, a precious bundle arrived. This precious bundle was you Jane. We , your parents started you on life’s voyage. A voyage that has been filled with various experiences, some good, some bad, the majority of them were good. you raised two wonderful boys. Boys you can be proud of, and boys I call my grandsons and I too, say it with pride. Now you have beautiful grandchilden ( my great grandchldren) which we all can be proud of and that is what the evolution of time is all about. The time has now come for you Jane to reflect on your past, to enjoy the present and look forward to the future with great anticipation and to count your many blessings. Retirement is a time to enjoy all life has given you so far and you are very fortunate in that respect. So today as you retire from your job, I wish you much happiness and good health as the pages close on another chapter of your life and a new , exciting chapter begins. May we have many more happy times together as the days unfold.
Love and good wishes from your Mom.

It would be out of character for me to not write the longest entry here, so grab a glass of wine…this could take a while!
If you were to have told me back in 2001, after I did my little stint at McDiarmid under your stewardship, that our paths would not only cross again, but quickly, and for a long time, I’d have assumed you were offering me a job at McDiarmid. And yet, here we are (oops…were), both working side by side for a completely different (and ultimately more satisfying) company. It’s always funny how things work in this world.
So now here we are, after seven years of working together, my sounding board for my never-ending rants, the person who assured me I was not crazy for thinking something just ain’t right, and the occasional voice of reason when I managed to get separated from rational thought, is leaving me to fend for myself. I’m feeling a bit like I’m being kicked out of the nest, so to speak, to fly on my own. I best get flapping, for the ground approaches quickly!
I know you’re leaving with some nervous thoughts about what is being left undone. But, you should proudly walk away, self-assured that you leave this company owing them nothing but a friendly wave good-bye. I would insist, rather, that it is they who most certainly owe you a large debt of gratitude for bringing their A/R department into, at the very least, the 20th century. Well, that, and Mike owes you jellybeans. Lots and lots of jellybeans.
It is with that knowledge that we all christen the beginning of your retirement journey. To say it’s been a pleasure to work with you would be an understatement. I’m going to really miss having you around to chat with. But, alas, as you have been set free from the bonds of the working world (which is awesome, by the way), I’ll gladly see you off with a smile. After all, it is time for some rest and relaxation after a career well spent! You’ve earned it.
And with that, I’ll send you into retirement with two simple wishes for you: Be happy, and equally important, be well.
Take care,
Roy

Jane, congratulations on your well deserved retirement.
While the wishes from everyone have a similar theme, I truly had the pleasure of being the first to work with you as we embarked on a number of different “Project Cleanup” here at Dufresne. You embody what seems to be the perfect mix of tenacity, toughness, coach and true genuine care and concern for your colleagues.
I hope that your retirement brings you as many rewards as your employment career has and even more adventures than all of the tough collections you have made over the years!
Best wishes to you and Murray for many years of good health and good fortune.
Regards,
James

Hi Jane,
The day has finally come! This is your first morning of retirement-how does it feel? I’m sure it will take a while to sink in, maybe even until the first day you hear Bishop Grandin is covered in ice and you realise you do not have to slip and slide into work.
I certainly enjoyed working with you, but more importantly cherish the friendship that has grown over the years.
Dave and I wish you a happy retirement, but if I know you, you will be busier now than ever!
See you soon,
Deb and Dave
